By allowing Texas Bee Services to relocate your bees, you are protecting the feral bee colonies of central Texas. Honey bees are critical pollinators for about 75% of global food crops and over 90% of wild plant species. They are vital for producing fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. They help pollinate the crops for Texas livestock. They act as indicators of environmental health due to their sensitivity to habitat changes. 1-D-1 Savings
With Texas Bee Services, central Texas land owners save even more on their 1-D-1 ag exemption. By using healthy, genetically resilient, feral bee stock, our 1-D-1 management costs are much lower.
- We do not purchase bees from bee suppliers. Since we obtain all our bees through rescues, we pass those savings on to you.
- Unlike most beekeepers, we do not treat our bees with chemicals or other synthetic products. The best defense against health threats is a strong bee colony with strong genetics. Since we do not use synthetic treatments, we pass those savings on to you.
- We remove minimal amounts of honey from the bee hives. By allowing the bees to keep their honey, the colonies are healthier, survive longer, and cost less to manage. We pass those savings on to you.

Why Treatment Free?
Treatment free beekeeping focusses on maintaining healthy bee colonies through natural means instead of chemical treatments. Bees have been on this planet for 150 million years. They have proven more than capable of fending off threats without our help. Their health and continued existence will come through promoting their natural defenses – not from pharmaceutical supplements. That’s why we believe synthetic treatments are unnecessary and ultimately do more harm than good.
This is also why we do not sell honey. Many commercial beekeepers take substantial amounts of honey every summer. As a replacement, they supplement with an inferior substitute – sugar water. This may prevent starvation but the stress and poor nutrition leave the bees’ immune systems weakened. This, in turn, requires treatments to prop up their health. The bees produce the honey because they need it to stay healthy. We make sure they keep it.
If we treat bees with the care and respect they deserve, chemical treatments such as miticides and other synthetic supplements are simply not necessary.
